35wks pregnant with flu symptoms and bad pain under ribs.can anyone relate?

Hi.well as the title says i'm 35wks pregnant,with third baby.woke up this morning with aches&pains and a temperature.fair enough-sounds like flu.
however during the past couple hours i've developed a bad pain under my ribs,right at the top of my uterus.pain so bad i've been in tears and unable to get comfortable.doesn't feel like contractions although the pains do come and go-there for about 5mins then ease off then back again.doesn't feel like baby kicks causing pain either.
bit strange and worrying as i've never had this before.has anyone else experienced anything like this?
(spoke to doc at maternity ward who didn't feel concerned but we can't always go by them.so many things are missed or overlooked)
