Herman Cain smoking ad
The last and the least original spot campaign Herman Cain is talking the American media. And for good reason: we see Mark Block, campaign manager for the Republican candidate, drawing clouds of smoke on his cigarette in the foreground. What follows is a slow-motion image of the Pope of the pizza, all smiles, on the soundtrack "I'm America" Krista Branch, muse of singer Tea Party. The video is ranked in the top 10 political ads in history. Herman Cain, when with him, climbs into his head to a new survey for 2012.
She had been seen by 400 users, and some scouts political buzz yesterday afternoon. This morning she has nearly 400,000 views on YouTube. If any signs that the last video of Herman Cain campaign is now entering in the history of viral videos of 2012.
It must be said that the spot "Now is time for action!", Posted on October 19 on the official YouTube channel of the Republican candidate had all the "fake". Internet users could access only one URL not listed, the succession of close-ups fixed and fuzzy, and the cigarette smoke Mark Block in the 40th second of the spot left to think of a parody.
It is not. Cain's campaign has now taken the spot and in fact even the image of political independence. Interviewed by CBS, Mark Block claims: "I smoke. It is a choice. It's just making the Block Block."
While it is unusual for a campaign manager display its addiction to tobacco, we must remember the position of its candidate in the field. While recovering from colon cancer in 2006, Herman Cain has never hidden his sympathy for smokers. As explained in the New York Times, Cain was the head of the National Restaurant Association from 1996 to 1999, opposing any ban on smoking in restaurants or any additional tax on tobacco. Resistance to "Big governance" that is sure to please fans of the Tea Party, complaining regularly of federal intrusion into their daily lives.
Coincidence or not, Herman Cain is now leading a new poll released by CBS and The New York Times. He beat Mitt Romney for the Republican nomination, 25% against 21% of voting intentions. Newt Gingrich is the third and made an unexpected breakthrough with 10%, closely followed by Ron Paul at 8%. Rick Perry tumbles to 6 points, while Michelle Bachmann keeps on flowing. Only 2% of GOP voters choose the candidate.
Another call to the Tea Partiers foot, Cain chose "I Am America" Krista Branch, as a soundtrack for his special spot smoking. The song was dedicated as the anthem of the Tea Party. Originally from Oklahoma, this mother and daughter of a pastor, was readjusted during the season 7 of American Idol. Spotted by Glenn Beck, the former star of Fox News commentator, Krista Branch has become the sweetheart of the Tea Party with its ode to American freedom and libertarian values.
