Scuffles broke out Tuesday, October 25, between police and protesters in Oakland, California, during a march of over a thousand people protesting against the arrest of "outraged" that occupied for two weeks a town square.
The police used tear gas to disperse protesters near the Frank Ogawa place the center of a standoff between the mayor and the protesters. In the morning, police arrested at least 85 protesters dispersing the camp established by the "outrage," said a spokesman for the mayor. Police reported no arrests would confirm it until Wednesday.

The area remained closed and under police supervision for the rest of the day. Municipal authorities said they asked three times to stop the protesters to camp overnight and cook in the square. A statement from the mayor says the situation began to deteriorate during the second week, the police, firefighters and medical personnel said they could not access the site to answer calls.
ARRESTS IN SEVERAL CITIES
The Oakland protest was launched in the wake of Wall Street triggered movement Occupy September 17 in New York. The demonstrators, protesting against the bailout of large banks by the government and against persistent unemployment, have gradually been emulated across the United States. Since the beginning of the movement, hundreds of people were arrested in New York, 130 people in Chicago and Philadelphia in fifteen similar events last week.
