Pyramid at the nursery
For early childhood education pyramid was previously only used in playgroups and primary schools. Recently, this method is also adapted for use in nurseries and is a developing country where more and more children's centers are going to take part.
The SKA is this a precursor, in September 2009, we started training our staff in March 2011 and are certified. From that moment Pyramid and also tutoring a regular part of our program. In Achtkarspelen was chosen for the early childhood program Pyramid. By entering Pyramid at their nurseries close to the SKA to the municipal development. We have chosen for training and supervising all employees and there are 7 tutors trained, so that all three children's centers, tutors hard work that the children know well. The children at our nurseries have this same preparation for elementary and preschool children to go.
HOA (for early childhood education) most parents is now known, but a little explanation is probably nice.
The goal of VVE is: all children a good start position in education and a good school providing appropriate.
Pyramid is an educational method in which the play is very important learning environment. The method is characterized by a rich supply of all developing regions, in a structured environment.
These development areas are:
Personality Development
Social emotional development
Motor development
Artistic development
Development of perception
Language development
Think Development
Orientation in space and time and world exploration
The game will adjust to a learning project theme.
Game is very important for the development of children. Through play children handle their emotions and the creativity. By playing, children learn!
When playing the initiative lies with the children, the teacher observes and support where necessary, by playing the game to enrich and teach children to play.
We work with project topics.
A comprehensive review of the project is a theme that fits the experiences of the children. During a project with the children explored a theme, first close and then with increasing distance. All development areas are here, together, discussed.
With the SKA are 7 additional trained childcare workers to be employed as a tutor.
Tutoring includes: extra support to children in need and is primarily preventive: children preparing for a new theme, a number of concepts in these children already known. The tutoring is linked to the projects.
What you notice as a parent of the introduction of Pyramid:
You will receive before the start of each new project issues a newsletter, so you home with your child can talk on the topic, responding to what the child experiences in the nursery.
The groups we now daily schedule cards, there is a line depicting the activities during the day. This provides clarity and structure, when children know what will happen.
At all locations, the device is adapted to early childhood, there are play areas and have created new materials purchased for the game to optimize learning.
The interior design of the site you can also see which theme weeks we work on our intranet and can find the songs we sing with the children.
Notice what your child:
The children have fun in a rich learning environment designed game.
There are many interesting activities offered on the groups.
Sometimes extra attention from the tutor. But the focus is on playing good!
Every six weeks the teachers came together for the training activities conducted by Pyramid trainer Geke Dijkstra.
When the training was of course much leeswerk watch, but there were also many practical assignments done.
Thus, each leader as telling a practical assignment box made in order to get the interactive reading and encouraging children to exercise.
This produced great results!
Experience in the care of Pyramid (Summer 2010)
Harkelein of group leaders:
"Last year we started to introduce in early childhood in our group, it takes some getting used to a structured (from a book) to be busy with activities. Previously we thought the business itself, it does require a different approach. On the other hand it is easy to book on addressing a specific theme and to explore for and with children. Which is also an added benefit, it saves time and has been tested, so good!
We notice that the children respond enthusiastically, they are challenged in a different way to think about things and are thus in a fun and playful way into contact with new concepts. For us as leaders, it is also fun and motivating to see that children are stimulated to broaden their horizons. Their spontaneous reactions that we understand what children meekrijgen or already learned.
We are developing and becoming increasingly familiar with how the pyramid! "
The group leaders of Kindergarten:
The children in the group will establish a difference. Previously we worked with themes, but this was less variety and depth. We have a theme begins a brief meeting on which topic we choose and what we do when (schedule). Here we benefit from a very useful and interesting project book. A theme usually lasts 3 to 4 weeks. And every week a different phase of the themes discussed and we also deeper into certain topics. Then we have one week "rest" and then start a new topic. We experience this as a very new, instructive and refreshing experience. We are excited about the experience .. We find that children also sure! They are very curious and inquisitive. The last time we had the theme: Colour and Shape. The base we teach the children but to immerse ourselves later. The colors were already quite familiar, but they are? Oval, rectangular? That was some news! Colors and colors on this record and learn new songs. The parents are starting a new theme for all of them a newsletter outlining what we're doing and what they might at home could practice. In our opinion a great success!
Bommelstein of group leaders:
"We are already almost half of the course VVE. We as teachers see it as a fun, educational course, with positive effects for both children and ourselves. We are now focused themes. These are playfully presented d.m.v. activities, eg songs and movement games and feel.
Each theme is performed in about 3 weeks. Each week the aspects of the subject more depth and so the children learn the basic concepts to hear, which may be used or additional terms which some extra assistance.
The theme was very successful spring, we sang songs about lambs, made around the theme of games, arts and crafts, garden cress sown, and of course played a lot outside and the nature around us and discuss views.
During the thematic activities are not only new concepts mastered, by playing all developing regions are discussed. Children thus have a head start when they move on to primary school. We continue to be careful that the provision of activities in a playful way done, we would definitely not "school" manner. The joy of playing is with us, just as we work with Pyramid, still ahead! "
