Sony is to recall 1.6million of its Bravia brand LCD TVs worldwide after several serious malfunctions involving parts 'melting'.
The 11 incidents took place in Japan, but faulty parts may affect TV sets sold 'around the world'. Forty-inch LCD models have been affected - a list of specific model numbers is below.

If you notice any abnormality with your Sony TV such as noise, smell or smoking, Sony advise that you switch it off immediately
Sony's service representative will visit to check your TV and will repair it as promptly as possible if it has the affected component.'
