CBS said that the former political commentator for CBS News and 60 Minutes, Andy Rooney, died only a month after the release of his final comment.
He was 92. CBS says he died Friday night in New York.
Rooney has spent over 30 years to speak with irony the oddities of life for 60 Minutes. He made jokes about how air travel has become unpleasant, he questioned as to why the banks have important sounding names or we just spoke of old clothes in her wardrobe.
He joined CBS in 1949 and wrote for many shows and celebrities over the years. He teamed up with journalist Harry Reasoner in the 1960s, and they collaborated on a number of special reports.
One of their stories won an Emmy and concerned about the falsehoods conveyed blacks in movies and history books.
Rooney and his late wife, Margaret, have four children.
